Juxtaposing the past with the present alludes to replication of history. Taking the position of a storyteller enables me to relay knowledge as it has been passed down through history books and oral traditions. The subject matter in my work correlates to the marriage of traditional techniques with a wide range of contemporary mediums.
The delicate techniques of sewn fabric, cut paper, and gold leaf are juxtaposed with modern materials such as spray paint, enamel, and silkscreen.
