My paintings reflect images derived from history to outline issues, which still resonate in our world today. The subject matter in my work correlates to the marriage of traditional techniques with a wide range of contemporary mediums.
The delicate techniques of sewn fabric, cut paper, and gold leaf are juxtaposed with modern materials such as spray paint, enamel, and silkscreen. Through these processes I explore the political issues of racism, globalization, societal classifications, and isolation.
